The Lover Boy Collection is inspired by the comic books written by Janice and Stan Berenstain. Each print is one of a kind. I found one of their books at a vintage shop in the East Village and saw great similarities to my art practice. I examine and comment on human interactions and relationships, especially those of a sexual nature. The Lover Boy Collection consists of my thoughts layered on top of theirs. My modern take based on my interpretation of that page/image.

This specific print "Since When" is a mixed media piece. After reading this passage I started laughing and thought "oh how times have changed"... This comic was created in the 1950's, and although I wasn't around back then, it seems as if everything used to be so simple and direct. Today I feel as if no one is "forthright"  with their feelings, especially when it comes to liking someone romantically. People from my generation ghost, run, hide, and burry their emotions. They play games and believe this is the way to get someone to like you... Sometimes I genuinely become so pessimistic and believe we don't even know how to be authentic anymore.
